At High Down Infant School we aim to create a warm, happy purposeful environment where each child will be stimulated to acquire knowledge, skills and practical abilities through motivating cross-curricular topics. Children will be taught as a class, in small groups and individually as appropriate. A high priority is given to support children to become literate and numerate. The learning programmes are carefully planned as a whole school to ensure continuity and progression within a broad and balanced curriculum.
We plan activities for the children in the following areas:
We enhance the curriculum through inviting visitors to school and undertaking educational visits (please see the class pages for futher details). We also use our lovely grounds to complete practical sessions for a range of curriculum areas including outdoor PE.
All children are encouraged to work at a level which is challenging and will enable them to reach their full potential.
