Children will also require a book bag and a PE kit (shorts and T-shirt of any colour and daps/trainers). It is essentail that all items of clothing are labelled.
All our school meals are prepared on the Junior School site from fresh ingredients and served in our school hall. Well-balanced meals are offered and a menu will be sent home at the beginning of the term. Meals are free for all infant aged children. To view a menu please see bottom of this page.
Free School Meals
Parents in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (income based) or Income support are eligible to apply for free school meals. Although all meals are free, if you are entitled to this funding then your child will also gain Pupil Premium funding which our school uses to pay for additional English and maths support. Absences from school
All schools are required to report unauthorised absences from school. A telephone call or email is required to explain the reason for non-attedance. If your child is ill please contact the school as soon as possible before 10am to note why your child is absent that day. In the case of vomiting and diarrhoea, children need to stay at home for 48 hours after the cessation of vomiting and bowel movements.
Parents do not have an automatic right to withdraw pupils from school for a holiday and, in law, have to apply for permission in advance. Only in exceptional circumstances can the school authorise the holiday request.
It is not the school's legal responsibility to accept the administration of medicines on behalf of the parent. If short term medicines such as antibiotics or cough linctus etc is necessary during the day it implies the child may not be sufficiently recovered from their illness and should not be in school. Where it is essential for medication to be administered in school (asthma, diabetes, anaphalactic shock) parents must give written permission and directions about how and when to use - a form is available from the school office. We remind parents that it is their responsibility to ensure sufficient medication is provided and kept up to date.
Please note that dogs are not allowed on the school premises.
The school has a no smoking policy which also applies in the playground and field areas.
