At High Down we expect very high standards of behaviour, and we are very proud of how our pupils respond. Parents comment extremely positively, in our annual questionnaire, about the behaviour of our children.
Our School is a community where relationships are based on respect and we expect the children to follow our six Golden Rules.
Our Golden Rules are:
We walk and talk quietly around the school - we do not run or shout
We are kind, gentle and helpful - we do not hurt or upset others
We always try our best - we do not give up or waste time
We look after our school - we do not spoil things
We listen to people - we do not interrupt
We are honest - we do not cover up the truth
At the beginning of each year, and each new term, we go over our Golden Rules. Obviously when these rules aren't followed, we will have to take action - please see our policy below for more details.
We only accept high standards of behaviour at High Down Infant School, and bullying is not accepted, in whatever form. We want the children to enjoy their time here, feel safe, have fun and learn lots. We will help everyone to get on with each other and we believe everyone has the right to be who they are. We have a child friendly anti-bullying policy and we teach the children to tell us about any concerns, to ensure all children feel confident in the school.
